As the founder and director of Toolbox Design, Sanem Surel has over 10 years of experience overseeing design, development, and construction administration for a diverse range of projects in San Francisco, Bay Area. Her goal is to shape fundamental elements into a meaningful vision that exists within the landscape she creates. Through a process of discovery, design, and dialogue, she infuses clients’ unique needs and desires into construction that develop how they live their lives.

Sanem is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, The Association of Professional Landscape Designers, The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and The National Association of Women Business Owners.

She holds a Master degree in Architecture from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California and a Bachelor Degree in Urban Design and Landscape Architecture from Bilkent University in Turkey. With degrees in architecture, landscape architecture and planning, she provides solutions in all project phases.
